Kartik month is the eighth month per the North Indian Hindi calendar; this year, it will begin on 10th October 2022 onwards.
Lord Krishna holds this month of the Hindu calendar in the highest regard. It represents Bhakta Vatsalya or unrestrained parental love. Devotees strongly believe that any vrat or good conduct would result in eternally positive outcomes. It is a common misconception that doing good deeds only has a short-term impact. The entire Hindu festival of Kartika is dedicated to worshipping Lord Krishna and praising his way of life.
Dakshinayana and Uttararyana are the two halves of the lunar calendar. Dakshinayana includes Kartik month. Regarding Sadhana, Uttarayan is for enlightenment, whereas Dakshinayana is for purification.
Sadhana refers to a method for obtaining salvation. Kartik month is the best month for Sadhana out of all the ones in Dakshinayana. Kartik month is one of the most fortunate months in the lunar calendar.
The months of Kartik offer four different types of rewards, including religious, economic, excellent married life, and enlightenment, according to the Padma Purana and Skanda Purana.
For the benefit of humanity, Lord Narayana first explained the significance of the month Kartik to Brahma, followed by Brahma telling Narada, who then told King Prithu.
